Growing up in a family that looked perfect and beautiful from the outside, but was also dealing with psychoses, suicide and war syndromes, the theme of life and death became important for my work. I want to encourage my audience to be taken by the flow of life and enjoy beauty in all its facets. You see tulips in full bloom, a Rembrandtesque play of light and darkness, crisp details and distorted reflections and bright colors contrasting blackness.
