S/He Died to Save Our Souls

This work, S/He Died to Save Our Souls, one of a tryptich, is made to comfort people who lost their dearest ones. The inspiration to make this triptych not only came from the blooming sunflowers on the 17th of July 2014. I was motivated to soften the horror of the MH17 disaster and the fate of volunteers looking for remnants of bodies between the sunflowers in East-Ukraine. The sunflower is the national symbol of Ukraine.

What do I hear? Is it my inner voice or a voice from above?
In this work you can see among others: a big angelica root and pollen, the yellow powders of the big sunflower. It also contains yellow stars of antidepressant plants: St. John’s wort ( Hypericum perforatum) and angelica root. Some rosa pomegranate arils, an open fig, snapdragons and rosa sweet peas from my mothers garden.
I hope they will brighten up your mood.
